Meow, meow, friends,
we’ve finally calmed down and taken a little bit of time to report on the events of the past few days. On Friday night last week, our new family arrived at our breeder family’s house. After climbing a little bit on the transport box and playing with Herbert’s shoelaces, we retired in the cellar with our four-legged mommy. While our two-legged friends had a delicious dinner with wine from the Alsace region, we were treated with a little bit of breast milk and cuddling with our furry mommy. While they were laughing and chatting, we were purring contentedly.
After a quiet night, the house got really busy, as Grey and Gamma’s family from Switzerland arrived. While the six of them had breakfast, we were innocently playing with our niece and nephew (the G’s are our sister Aria’s babies). Little did we know that we’d be moving in a few hours. Of course we were told, but we are too little to understand some things. If I, Hattori, had know, I would have used the little box before being put in the transport box. The drive itself was ok, just a little bit too long. Try having to pee for more than 8 hours; it’s terrible.
Even though Marlies and Herbert tried really hard to make us feel comfortable in the car by driving very carefully and plying calming music, I still couldn’t help meowing pitifully for almost two hours. They were trying to persuade me to use the travel litter box, but I didn’t want to because I need my privacy when I’m taking care of business. I am seeking revenge though by peeing so much now that the littler box is more than full every morning. You could say it’s my new hobby. Hanzō loves cleaning, so he always keeps the dirt in the litter box well hidden. Sometimes, he digs around for a very long time until he’s satisfied. It’s cute :).
The rest of the drive, we tried to sleep as much as possible, most of the time on top of each other. After around six hours though, we got sick and tired of being in one spot in the transport box all day, and started meowing pitifully again -- ok, it was mainly me; Hanzō was sleeping like a baby the whole time. Towards the end, we got a few snacks because Marlies didn’t know how to make us stop meowing.
Anyway, we were very happy when we finally got home and jumped straight from the transport box into the litter box, even though we felt very tempted to explore the whole apartment. Partly because of our curiosity, partly because of a fear of the new environment, we forgot to eat and bravely explored every corner of our new home together. We saw, felt and tasted every part of the apartment. It was a very exciting evening, but let us tell you more about it in our next post. We’re being distracted with a feather toy, so we can’t focus on writing any more. Sorry, guys :).
Talk to you soon!
Love,
Hattori and Hanzō
