Meow, meow!
Sorry guys that we haven't been posting regularly lately. Our daddy's been on a business trip since Tuesday morning and we're so sad that we spend a lot of time sitting in front of the door, hoping that he comes home soon. Mommy keeps telling us that we have to wait until next Friday for him to return, but we have decided not to lose hope, so we just stare at the door handle and meow occasionally. Especially during the week, at the time daddy usually comes home from work, we are particularly frustrated.
Mommy has been trying to cheer us up by letting us talk to daddy on Skype, but this new technology is way too confusing for us little party poopers. Whenever we hear his voice, we have faith again and are looking for him in the room after trying to determine the location his voice is coming from by moving our ears like mobile satellite dishes. All we can say is: please come home, daddy. We miss your warm computer and your determination to teach us tricks and play with us hours on end. We're not saying mommy is treating us badly. She feeds us whenever we start meowing pitifully in the kitchen, but her computer is too small for both of us to sleep on at the same time and she also prefers cuddling to playing with us. She says she's tired after work, but we also sleep the whole day when she's not home. Why doesn't she also sleep at the office, so she is well rested and has a lot of energy to play with us when she comes home?
What else is going on in our life, you might be wondering. We're playing a lot; our mommy calls it rioting. We've personalized a few pieces of furniture, by "decorating" them with a nice pattern. (Note by mommy: the massage chair is scratched and the shower curtain has holes now). We love to sit and play in the bathtub, even if it is still wet. We also enjoy watching our mommy shower, and we don't think it's weird at all. It is fascinating to see drops of water bounce off the bathtub and listen to the drizzling sound. The bathroom has become our favorite room since daddy's emptied the laundry basket last weekend; they're not so comfortable to sleep in when they're practically empty. We've dicovered the joys of playing in the washing machine. Yesterday, mommy loaded it with towels and we immediately decided to "bathe" in them. It's fascinating because we can hide between them and whevever we move, the machine turns. Mommy had a really hard time getting us out of there before turning it on.
We also eat like vaccuum cleaners. We're eating way more than one portion a day, but we're trying not to binge eat every day because mommy's told us that she only has 18 portions for 10 days and once they're gone, we have to eat canned food until daddy comes back because she'd throw up having to prepare our food. We don't quite understand because it is so delicous. We're happy to report that even though we've been eating so much, we've only been growing and not getting fat. Mommy put us on that weird flat thing that beeps and then spits out a number when you step on it, and apparently, we've been gaining around 300g per week. Last week, Hattori weighed 1.8kg and Hanzō 1.6kg. This week, Hattori weighed in at 2.1kg and Hanzō at 1.8kg.
Lastly, I think mommy was a little bit upset with us at the beginning of the week. When daddy left, she let us sleep in the bed with her, but we were so active and restless that she kicked us out in the middle of the night. But we had so much fun chasing her legs underneath the blanket. We admit, we could have tried to behave a bit better, especially since she was clearly lonely and needed a bit of comfort.
That's it for now, time to eat and play, but stay tuned for some cute pictures of our first few weeks here in Austria and a post about our first weekend of family visits.
Love,
